Lotus Europa Twin Cam 5VRT

Lotus europa has been laid up since 1983 – shown here after respray ready for further restoration.

Lotus in storage before restoration. Painted gold by the previous owner, it was silver, before that purple and originally Lotus green. Already it has been stripped down.

Paintwork removed using a soda blaster. This removed the layers of paint without affecting the fibre glass body. The purple and green paintwork can be seen.

Body removed exposing the chassis and engine / gearbox. The newspaper shows August 1991 date which was when the Lotus was stripped down. Chassis looks good apart from front cross piece.

Lotus in filler paint which was flattened to smooth surface in preparation for top coat.

Car finished in Lotus blue.
